How about a beautiful, handwoven zigzag throw in natural cotton to snuggle up under? It’s a great way to keep cosy on these cold evenings and a fabulous way of dressing up your living space.
This handwoven Zigzag throw is very special, not mass produced but created by hand in a social enterprise. If you would like to order one we can take pre-orders from this page. When we have enough orders we will run the production. This cuts down on waste and saves money and carbon in transportation and packaging.
There are currently 10 throws to be ordered before production begins.
This is our newest ethical offering – 100% cotton and woven by hand into a gorgeous chevron design. These throws are large, thick and warm- 138cm wide by 216cm long. They come in 4 colours – red, green, navy and yellow.
These throws are woven by hand in a rural co-operative in Gujarat, India. Weaving this twill fabric is a specialist job, using a hand powered loom with 4 paddles – it takes skill and precision to perform such a traditional craft. You can see a video of a throw being woven below….
The cotton is sourced from local cotton farmers and production is virtually carbon free as hand powered, so it’s very eco. The co-operative has the a mission to provide livelihoods for marginalised workers, focusing on women and rural workers – they’re all paid and treated as you would wish.
