Sustainable Fabrics

We create our ethical fashion for women from 100% organic cotton – our shirts are created from handwoven khadi – a cotton fabric spun and woven by hand in co-operatives set up by Mahatma Gandhi in India.

Our African tunics are made from ecologically farmed organic cotton from Uganda that was watered by the rain.

We partner with social enterprises and co-operatives who are as passionate as we are about the environment so that the fibres and fabrics are as eco-friendly as we can get them.

It’s a strange situation when our shopping condemns our garment making sisters to poverty and suffering.

At Where Does It Come From? we run fully transparent supply chains so we know who is involved at all stages of production – there’s no anonymous sweatshops involved, just social enterprises, co-operatives and artisan groups who are all focused on building and supporting sustainable livelihoods and communities.

Using the code on your garment label you can get to know the people who make your clothes and find out how your buying power is helping to change their lives.
