Thanks Chris – I’ve replied by email. Basically we are sold out of the Green Peacock Feather pocket squares that were sewn in a Fairtrade workshop in Malawi. But we still have some of the original organic, rain fed cotton in that print so it may be possible to tailor one for you in the UK if you are interested?

Hello,

I would like to order a set of face masks and I’m delighted to read how they are made and the cotton used. However, I am going away to Canada on 6th June (flights permitting) and so would need to have them posted in time to arrive at my home in Nottingham well before the 6th. Is that feasible?

It sounds like you are already are part of the change. Not buying lots of mass produced clothes is key. If budget is an issue and you need something then consider buying second hand. It’s worth investing in sustainable items as basics – they tend to last longer plus you’ll probably love it more too. But the key mantra is reduce, re-use, recycle and you are already on it!

Just wanted to say wow, wow, wow – I love the green peacock African tunic that I pre-ordered during your crowd funder. I’m usually a (large) 10 but the fit was actually too snug for me so I’m glad I took your advice and sized up to a 12. I would really recommend that if you are borderline between 2 sizes, then go for the larger one. Also worth mentioning that the cotton fabric “ relaxes” a bit after you wear it for a while (a bit like when you put on a pair of non-stretch jeans). The fabric is so soft and the colours are just gorgeous. Can’t wait for my blue tunic to be ready now!

In reply to Janet Fanning. Yes I totally agree. I sense the frustration building up now - with the school strikes and the Extinction Rebellion protests. As always if the people shout then there will be government protest but if enough people take action then they have to listen or get voted out!

Fabulous article – thank you. I was fortunate enough to be at the same talk and an observation from Amanda Mukwashi that hit me hard was about how when children have to take to the streets in order to make a change then adults should be ashamed as we have failed. The overall message remained hopeful though we all need to make changes – no matter how small. All the best.

It is encouraging that many more people are getting involved in this critical issue and we can, and must, all play a part. My overwhelming concern is that the people who can make the biggest contribution (Governments, Corporations, Manufacturers etc.,) are dragging their heels. It is not feasible to say they’ll be change by 2025 or at some time in the future – there will be no future on the basis of a half baked promise. Time is of the essence and to make it someone else’s problem is suicide. Ultimately the biggest roadblock to fast and radical change is money and denial. We have a beautiful and amazing planet and seem hell bent on destroying it, and everything on it. We must do whatever it takes to force change
